There’s something about God – introduction – REDUX

As I write these little posts I know that some might not appreciate my poor style of writing nor my oft round-about veiled points. I understand that. I wish I were more proficient at expressing the point and in a less convoluted way. At this point I can only put down what I have. I can only put it down to the best my current ability. Take it and find the crumb of blessing, or leave it and forgive my offense. I am round-about because that is the way I am wired. If I am vague it may be because I think that if you, the reader, really want understanding then it is better to make you think it through. I want to rely on the actual understanding not to come from my skill but from the holy spirit’s application to your heart. Let’s see if we can find God in spite of all that may work to the contrary.

There’s something about God – created

In the beginning God created… I heard today, and have heard before, the evolutionist believes we came from a rock. That is reported with a scoffer’s tone and attitude, usually. In the coming chapters of the Biblical account we will see that we did not come from a rock but from dust. In all reality, those are more similar in substance than they are different.

God created… that of necessity puts me in a position of subjugation. I choose the word subjugation instead of submission because, as we will see, we are ever want to live in rebellion and self will. [Read more…]

There’s something about God – introduction

I am weary. I am disgusted. Now, I write.

In the beginning God… Genesis 1:1

It’s that simple, our introduction starts at the beginning. Although there has been much debate about what the actual beginning entailed, that is not to be covered in this post. Suffice it to say, that the Biblical record says that He was, and that He was there at the beginning. What does that mean to me, how can I apply that?

Just knowing that there is a God is important. Knowing He predates time is also important. I also know I was not there, and that helps me with my first answer to: “what does that mean to me?”; It means He most likely has experience [Read more…]
